Parenting ADHD Kids: Strategies, Structure & Sanity

A 6-week virtual psychoeducational group for overwhelmed but amazing parents of children with ADHD (diagnosed or suspected).

Parenting a child with ADHD can feel confusing, exhausting, and isolating. This group is designed to help parents understand how ADHD actually works in the brain and how to adjust parenting strategies so home life becomes calmer, more predictable, and more connected.

Groups are scheduled as interest develops and typically meet Thursday evenings from 7:00–8:15 PM via secure telehealth.

If you're a parent navigating life with an ADHD child and would like to participate, you're welcome to reach out to be added to the interest list for the next group. A new group will open once 5–6 parents have registered.

Facilitated by:

This isn’t just about ADHD theory — it’s about making your home life calmer and more manageable.

In our 6 weeks together, you’ll learn and practice strategies to help with:

  • Homework battles → creating structure and focus strategies that reduce stress for both parent and child

  • Bedtime routines → smoother wind-downs and less fighting at the end of the day

  • Morning chaos → getting out the door with fewer meltdowns and more peace

  • Emotional overload (yours and theirs) → practical tools for staying calm when your child is dysregulated

  • Boundaries that stick → saying no without guilt and creating clear, loving limits

  • Regulation skills → helping your child move from chaos to calm using movement, structure, and connection

You’ll also have the support of other parents walking the same road, so you’ll leave each week feeling less alone and more equipped.

What you’ll gain:

- Parents of children with ADHD (diagnosed or suspected)

- Parents who are neurodivergent themselves and want support parenting with ADHD

- Anyone feeling overwhelmed, alone, or stuck in daily chaos

Who this group is for:

Many parents who join this group worry that their child’s challenges might be more intense than what other families are dealing with.

In reality, many parents of children with ADHD feel overwhelmed by daily situations that others may not fully understand.

This group may be especially helpful if your child:

• Has frequent emotional outbursts or big reactions
• Struggles with homework avoidance or constant battles around schoolwork
• Seems bright but overwhelmed by expectations
• Has difficulty with transitions, routines, or getting out the door in the morning
• Is often described as sensitive, intense, or strong-willed
• Leaves you feeling like nothing you try seems to work consistently

You do not need to have everything figured out before joining.

Many parents come simply wanting to better understand how ADHD affects their child’s brain and to learn ADHD parenting strategies that actually work in real homes.

This group focuses on education and practical tools for parents, rather than therapy for the children themselves.
